*hackwheeze, dusts off journal*

GOOD AFTERNOON. I know I have been MIA for about... *checks watch* A YEAR, or more, but I do indeed still live, and I do indeed still create.

I have been swallowed up by RPing on livejournal and haven't come up for air in a very long time, but it's really fun and it gives me a chance to stretch my creative limbs. It's also helped me a lot with improv storybuilding, which is a useful skill for a DM.

To quickly recap the past year in RP and RL:

Joined a game last May and stayed in it for about 8 months. It became a home and I developed a family. Game stopped rocking, we all left and joined a myriad of other games that didn't quite measure up for various reasons. During this time I graduated. Oh wait, just kidding I didn't. That's a LONG story that I won't go into, but I have only one degree right now, the other is 4 credit hours away.

DnD during this time came to a near standstill until the end of winter term when I finally had enough free time to spend evenings gaming again with everyone, though I still had to excuse myself from time to time to finish up everything I had to do for school.

This summer I settled into two games with my RP family and am quite content at just staying in these two laid-back games. I'm also looking for work, with a few prospects at various retailers and am waiting until winter term to take my final class to get my second degree. I bought a new RPG system and started a campaign last night with a brand new group of players, and so far, success.

I mostly blog on LJ these days, since it's easier for me, but if I do recap what happens in rps in prose form, I will post pages here.

In a nutshell, same sex marriage is legal in California... at least until November when a ban will be put to vote.

Good thing California's a blue state! *crosses fingers*

As if I wasn't sure before that Kingdom Hearts was a game spawned by all that is awful about both Disney and Final Fantasy, I now know that they have bastardized one of my favorite characters from Final Fantasy VI: Setzer Gabbiani.

You do NOT fuck around with Setzer's character design, and you CERTAINLY don't make him look like AXEL WITH PLATINUM HAIR!

Amano designed the SPRITE on the SNES GAME with more detail and intricacy than Nomura's version in 3D!

I'm just speechless at the sheer stupidity of it. What's even the point of including a character that yuppy KH fans wouldn't even appreciate? And why make him 3D if you're not going to take the time to do it right, like they're doing with FFIV DS? Seriously?

And I swear, if anyone tries to convince me that a KH game could possibly be any good for whatever reason, I will punch them in the face. These guys wouldn't know a good game if it stepped on them in Magitek armor!

Three reasons why my little second cousin's probably gay:

1) He wants to collect Breyer Horses (... like barbies only horses and designed for little cowgirls)

2) His new favorite movie is Enchanted ("mommy can we watch the princess movie now??")

3) When my cousins put new wood flooring in he exclaimed, "WOW! Thank you, Daddy! Thank you, Grandpa! They're beautiful!!"

Best part is, he's only four. He is probably my new favorite cousin. I want to take him shoe shopping.

[My family's really small: 3 grandparents + 4 aunts + 2 uncles + 7 cousins + 1 second cousin = small extended family (17 members).]
